Purpose of the Role
The Lead Internal Quality Assurer plays a pivotal role in ensuring and continuously improving the quality and consistency of assessment and delivery across all provision. This role leads on internal quality assurance (IQA) across in-person, blended, and online learning environments, supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and driving innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment.
As part of the Quality Team, the Lead IQA will mentor assessors and IQAs, ensure robust quality systems are in place, and drive a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the IQA strategy aligned with organisational goals, OFSTED EIF, and Awarding Organisation standards.
- Develop and implement a digital-first IQA approach, ensuring effectiveness across face-to-face and online delivery models.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Awarding Organisations and External Quality Assurers (EQAs).
- Drive quality improvement planning (QIP) and contribute to Self-Assessment Report (SAR) processes.
- Promote a high-performance, inclusive culture across the quality and delivery teams.
Quality Assurance Activities
- Plan and conduct sampling and IQA activities across qualifications and delivery models, including remote and digital verification.
- Ensure IQA and assessment practices meet awarding body and Ofsted criteria.
- Oversee and enhance standardisation processes, ensuring consistency across teams and locations.
- Develop and maintain electronic QA records and performance dashboards using systems such as OneFile, Smart Assessor, or Microsoft Teams.
Team Development & CPD
- Mentor trainee assessors and IQAs, supporting progression towards qualifications and best practice.
- Lead monthly CPD sessions and quality briefings.
- Develop and review resources to support high-quality learning and assessment practices.
